Product

Ambient AI that transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical documentation in real time.

Problem

During patient exams, clinicians split their attention between active-listening, clinical documentation, and information retrieval, disrupting workflow efficiency and patient connection.

Design challenge

How might we transform live patient conversations into structured
clinical documentation without interrupting patient connection?

Narrative flow

Frame 1 - Attention fragmentation

The clinician is pulled away from the patient interaction to keep up with clinical documentation.

Frame 2 - The quiet shift

thread is activated.

Frame 3 - Information capture

thread listens to the conversation, and captures and organizes information.

Frame 4 - Output

thread outputs a structured clinical note in real time.

Frame 5 - Restored connection and presence

The note is fully drafted and synced to the EHR. The clinician is fully present.

Design principles

Restraint as a
design choice.

Every UI design element competes with the patient. When thread is activated, the features should not be overly visualized.

Subtle progress indication.

The key aha moment is that the clinical note is automatically generated and synced to the EHR. Subtle progress indicators help the audience feel assured that the note is being drafted.

Designing for mental load, not workflow.

The clinician’s mental state is the focus of the story. Not a sequence of features. The story starts with cognitive overload, that then transitions to restored clarity and presence.
